上社と下社の二つの神社からなる古代から続く信仰の拠点。上社は前・本宮、下社は春・秋宮に分かれる。諏訪湖の御柱祭や御神渡りなどの神事で知られます。
Suwa-taisha is a center of faith that has continued since ancient times, consisting of two shrines, the Kamisha (upper shrine) and Shimo-sha (lower shrine). The Kamisha is divided into the Mae and Honmiya shrines, and the Shimo-sha into the Spring and Autumn shrines. It is known for Shinto rituals such as the Mikabashira Festival and the Mikami-matari (crossing of the sacred mountain) on Lake Suwa.
