最上稲荷の三大祭典といわれるお火たき大祭は、一年間お祀りされたお札に対して感謝を込めておたきあげをする行事で、昨年授与されたお札を山にして積みます。すると、あたると一年を無病息災で過ごせると言われる炎が高く夜空を染め上げ、夜通し燃え続けます。
