精霊流しともいわれ、灯篭に祖先の名前を書いて川に流します。こうすることでご先祖や今亡き人の魂を見送ります。暗闇に浮かぶろうそくの火は幻想的です。最近は今回は願い・夢・想いを込めてキャンドルを灯す、キャンドルイベントも開催されています。灯篭は当日でも買えるので夏の思い出作り旅行にぴったりのイベントです。
