新宮城跡 / Shingū Castle Ruins

新宮城は源為義の娘、丹鶴姫が住んでいたことから、別名「丹鶴城」とも呼ばれています。1615年には一国一城令によって廃城になりますが、1618年に再建されました。現在は公園としても整備されており、2003年には国の史跡にも指定されています。

Shingū Castle is also called “Tanchō Castle” because it was the residence of Tanchō-hime, the daughter of Minamoto no Tameyoshi. It was abandoned in 1615 due to the one country one castle order, but it was rebuilt in 1618. It is now also maintained as a park and was designated as a national historic site in 2003.
